As part of our give-back to the community, GCMGA offers each year budgeted dollars for scholarships for students from Gwinnett County attending Gwinnett Technical College.
For the first time since COVID, the Gwinnett Tech Foundation hosted its annual Scholarship Celebration Luncheon to honor scholarship sponsors, donors, and student recipients. Representing GCMGA were our Treasurer, Amber Malloy, and Secretary, Karen McGinty. They presented our check for $2,500 to Sophia Pittman, who represented the foundation. Amber and Karen said they were glad they got to go because it was inspirational, and some testimonies brought tears. The president said he is so thankful for the Hope scholarship, but even with that, some kids are in such need that they may still not have as little as $200 for their books, etc. So all donations are appreciated and well used. The culinary scholars prepared the lunch, and it was quite tasty.
